IFS Basics 2: Exiles | Spring 2025

Service Description

Courses meet for 7 sessions over 9 weeks. The current calendar is a close estimate of the start and end dates. Exact dates will be confirmed closer to each course time. All class sessions will be recorded and sent to you if you miss a class but please do not register if you cannot attend our first class session. And please do your best to attend all sessions. This keeps the group most cohesive, consistent, and safe for all. To register, please provide a non-refundable deposit of $99. The remainder will be due during our first session. ------ Seven two-hour sessions including a downloadable workbook & resource guide, plus optional drop-in office hours. Here is the second course in the three-part IFS Basics series for beginners. Learning to work with exiles is not to be explored lightly. Exile work is the critically important work to be done with wounded, fragile, often traumatized parts of our system -- sometimes, parts we don't even know are there. This work is both magical and sometimes fraught with risk. If you try to work with an exile before your system is steady, ready, and anchored in Self, there can be challenging emotional backlash. This is why we go tenderly toward this second tier of the model. Working gently, I can help you begin to develop the skills and capacities needed to work in healthy safe ways with exiles. Each session includes short lectures, pair practice, and either a demonstration of the model in real-time or a chance to do your own personal work. Together we will create a small, safe, confidential environment in which to deepen your skills and confidence using the IFS model and feel and contribute to the profound Self-Energy that arises in the group.
