IFS Basics 1: Protectors
Tuesdays 11 am -1 pm Central via Zoom
Service Description
$449 - seven two-hour sessions including a downloadable workbook & resource guide, plus optional drop-in office hours. This course is your launching pad for developing expertise in IFS (Internal Family Systems). It's the first in a three-part series designed for therapists, coaches and others in the healing arts. We will focus on our Protective systems and the Self. This course encourages confidence in working with one’s own internal system and getting the feel and cadence of the protocol. General familiarity with the model is expected, but no training or prior experience is necessary. Before class begins, you will receive a detailed workbook and resource guide to help you prepare. Topics By Week: 1. Building safety in the group, and comfort with Parts language and Parts Work 2. Understanding The Internal System as a whole – Self-energy, multiplicity, and parts development over time 3. Working with Protectors (both healthy and extreme) 4. Exploring the nature of The Self, and introducing “The Six F’s” 5. More on Protector protocols 6. Stress-free Practice — experience protector protocols as client and facilitator. 7. Taking IFS into your life and work settings Each session includes short lectures, pair practice, and either a demonstration of the model in real-time or a chance to do your own personal work. Together we will create a small, safe, confidential environment in which to learn the building blocks of the IFS model, to feel and contribute to the profound Self-Energy that arises in such a group, and to develop skills for living well.
